Many Children in the metropolis of Mumbai are deprived of the basic nutrition and hence, are not able to attend school. Since a healthy child is the basic edifice of a healthy nation, the ROTARY CLUB OF BOMBAY CHEMBUR WEST has planned to provide mid-day meals to about 1000 children at the cost of Rs. 1200 ($27 @ 1USD=INR 45) for a full year. Hygienic kitchen facilities are available with reliable providers of such food on a continuous basis. Further, it has also been experienced in the past that the children attend school since availability of the meal is an incentive for the child to attend school.
